Regarding COVID-19 Concerns & Telehealth Options
We are open and we are conducting evaluations.
In an attempt to avoid the spread of COVID-19, Asheville Testing asks that extra measures are taken to reduce the risk of exposure. Patients experiencing potential COVID-19 symptoms including fever, cough, and shortness of breath should stay home and call your primary care doctor. According to the CDC, the following individuals are at a higher risk of getting sick from COVID-19: Older adults and people who have serious chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, and compromised immune systems.
In response to recommendations by the Center for Disease Control, we are taking steps to help our patients avoid being in public places unnecessarily. For the time being, our practice will conduct appointments by either telephone or by teleconference whenever possible. We have made the decision to conduct all therapy appointments, intakes sessions, and feedback sessions remotely. Insurance companies have relaxed their rules to allow for remote appointments to minimize exposure to the COVID-19 coronavirus. We will waive all charges for late cancellations for testing appointments. Clients with scheduled testing appointments are welcome to reschedule. For telehealth appointments, please let the office or your provider know the best phone number to contact you with. We will plan to call you on the phone. We are also investigating communication via Zoom or Doxy software, which are secure and HIPAA compliant.
We also recommend that you take steps to practice physical distancing: avoid being in crowds, try to stay 6 feet from the people around you, wash your hands frequently and do not put them in your nose or mouth. If you sneeze or cough, cover your mouth with a tissue, dispose of it and then wash your hands.
We are taking these measures to decrease the risk of infection for you. This has been declared a national public health emergency, and we are working to provide care for our patients in the safest possible way. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have questions, feel free to contact us.
